Eclipse (from Labyrinth – 2020)
Eclipse seems like a mix of the earthy tones of this album’s title observe (Crossroads) and the swinging power of GFriend’s debut period. I really like the violin that winds its approach by means of the instrumental, giving over to extra trendy sounding synths. The refrain has a stupendous lilt that weaves in surprising instructions because the manufacturing kicks up with symphonic heft. This one’s an actual sleeper hit for me. And listening to it with 2024 ears, elements of the hook really remind me of TWS’s If I’m S, Can You Be My N. Completely completely different moods in fact, however the musical kinship is there!
