Love Bug (from Time For The Moon Night time – 2018)
We’ve entered the phase of this characteristic that can cowl songs beginning with the phrase “love.” There are 5 of them in GFriend’s discography (seven when you depend “luv” and L.U.V” as variations on the phrase). Amongst them, the intense, bubbly Love Bug is a nice bop. It once more hearkens again to the stabbing percussion of their debut period however offers it a retro sheen that works nicely. The verses have a dynamic vitality and nice rhythm, stealing the present from the so-so refrain. The pre-chorus can also be good, positioned over a mattress of ascending backing vocals that give it loads of aptitude. It is a stable, mid-tier b-side.
